Summer is approaching, and you know what that means – it’s time to take a dive and enjoy your pool! Your polyester pool has water all year round, but its maintenance is reduced by half during the winter months. In this guide, we will walk you through simple steps to quickly prepare your pool for summer.
Let’s get started!
Say goodbye to winter by removing the pool cover (if you use one). Empty it of any leaves or debris, clean it well, and store it until next time.
It’s time to take care of your pool equipment. Check the pump, the filter (the sand inside it), the salt chlorinator (if it produces the product your pool needs), the pH dosing electrode (if its measurement corresponds to the test kit or photometer you use), and the heating device to ensure they are in excellent condition. If the electrode does not match your measurements during the check, replace it. Set the circulation timer to the summer mode for the pool, which means 8-10 hours a day.
Chemistry is not just for magicians – it is also crucial for a pleasant and healthy pool. Check the pH, alkalinity, and chlorine levels of the water using a water testing kit or a photometer. Your pool should be maintained weekly by a professional who will clean it, check the chemical balance, and add the necessary chemicals, algaecides, etc.
Let the Fun Begin and don’t forget, do not use sunscreens that can create stains in the pool, and never leave our little swimmers alone!
